My last post was about going on hiatus, but I
created this over my lunch hour, so it is exempt.
This will be an audience participation post (your comments are encouraged on any post, but I really want them here).
I need to use up some vacation days. If I don't use them, they will expire because I can only carry over 10 days each calendar year. I'll have 22 days accumulated at the end of the year before my planned days off are included. Those are 5 for RAGBRAI, 1 for Ironman Wisconsin, 2 for Christmas time, and 1 for a sick day sometime. That leaves me with 3 to spend somewhere. I am fortunate enough to have a job where I can take off any day I want really.
This is where I could use some help.
I could use your suggestions about what I could do with my days off. I'm not opposed to going below 10 either. Therefore, an option that takes 5 days is available as well. With weekends I could possibly go somewhere for 9 days.
The only days that are locked down are all of April and October (for exam study seasons), 6/1, 6/7 - 9, 6/14 - 16, 7/12 - 13, 7/20 - 28, and 9/6 - 9.
I have yet to get a passport, so any ideas need to be in the States.
I can think of quite a few events that might be amusing or entertaining, but I am struggling to think of events that would be a highlight of the year. I always look forward to RAGBRAI and I am excited just to have the ability to watch and volunteer at Ironman Wisconsin. What could I do that would be equally memorable?
You might gather from my previous posts that I desire something related to triathlons. That is not true. I have a full schedule of triathlons available if I choose to do them. Therefore, there is no imposition of a sport being involved. It is not ruled out though. Something culturally related is perfectly acceptable as well.
